Livestock waste management (Slurry)
ERG Ingenieros have more than 20 years of experience drafting projects related to waste management and is one of the pioneers in Spain in the livestock waste management.
The manure generated in intensive farms, known as slurry, is a serious environmental problem in areas of high concentration of farming because its abundance cannot be used in its entirety as agricultural fertilizers.
The technical team at ERG Ingenieros and the company IBERDRYER have developed a process for treating livestock waste. These plants are aimed to reduce the environmental impact through a drying process and a special treatment in order to eliminate the waste containing ammonia.
These plants have the following features:
- Electrical power: 15 MW.
- Hours of operation: 8,000 hours per year.
- Manure treatment capacity: 120,000 tones per year.
- Dry manure production: 7,000 tons / year.
- Electricity production: 114,000 MWh / year.
The technical team at ERG Ingenieros, along with IBERDRYER and ENDESA have promoted through the company PROGREEN S.L. four such plants in the region of Aragon and in the regions of Murcia, Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura.
